Yakers find their origin in the mountains of the himalaya. They were originally manufactured for human consumption and are still consumed by the people of the himalayas and their dogs today. They consist of a mixture of cow and cow's milk. A very small amount of lime juice and salt is also added to let the milk rinse and then press into blocks and dry in smoke for 28 days in order to give these uptakes their unique taste.
